FAQs

Do I need to use dressing aid (lube) when putting on a latex swimsuit, especially when wet?

Yes, lubrication is essential for the first few wears. Apply a generous amount of silicone dressing aid to the entire body, especially the hips, shoulders, and bust. Once the suit has been broken in, a shower and water may suffice, but lube prevents the high friction that causes seam tearing and material stress.

Can latex swimwear be worn in chlorinated pools or salt water?

Yes, but rinse immediately afterward. Chlorine and salt are both corrosive to natural rubber and will drastically accelerate its degradation (becoming brittle and losing elasticity). Crucially, rinse the suit thoroughly in clean, plain water immediately after getting out of the pool or ocean. Never let it dry out with chemicals on it.

What is the best way to dry latex swimwear, and should I powder the inside?

Air dry inside-out, away from sunlight. Hang the suit inside-out in a cool, dark, well-ventilated area until 100% dry. Once dry, lightly dust the interior with talcum powder to prevent the rubber surfaces from sticking together during storage. Never expose it to direct sunlight (UV).

How should I store latex swimwear to maintain its shape and prevent sticking?

Flat and powdered. Because swimwear often has thin straps or delicate cut-outs, avoid hanging, which can cause stretching. Store the suit flat in a dedicated opaque garment bag after ensuring it is completely dry and the interior has been lightly powdered to prevent the latex panels from fusing.
